Hwy. 61 construction firm might rent old public safety building

The Lake City City Council voted Monday to allow the city administrator to negotiate a short-term lease for the former public safety building at 209 S. High Street to Rochester Sand and Gravel.

The company is the general contractor on the Highway 61 reconstruction project. It would use the building as a construction office during the project.

Any negotiated lease would come back to the council for approval, City Administrator Rob Keehn told the council.
