School’s COVID-19 response update reduces required masking

Fewer Bluff View Elementary School students will be required to wear masks under an update to the school’s COVID-19 response that was set to take effect Tuesday, Feb. 8.

The Lake City School Board voted 4-2 on Jan. 24 to approve an administration proposal that would reduce the amount of required masking in the district beginning Feb. 8.

Under the old response plan adopted before the school year began, elementary school students in grade levels with a confirmed case were required to mask or switch to distance learning for 10 days.
