While patrolling Lake Pepin last week, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Conservations Officers Kevin Prodzinski and Matt Brodin were checking one boat when “they noticed a bobber floating near the bow of a boat with a perch on the hook with no fishing line coming from the boat,” according to the weekly conservation officer report. “It turns out it was attached to a rod and reel that had accidentally fallen over without the anglers noticing. The owner was very happy and told the officers his grandson would have been very disappointed if he had lost it.”
