State grants awarded to city for well-capping, ash tree replacement

The City of Lake City has received a state grant to continue removal and replacement of ash trees and one to find and seal an old railroad water well.

Both grants were on the City Council’s August regular meeting agenda.

The ash tree grant is a $49,784 grant from the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for the management of Emerald Ash Borer in community forests, according to the agenda.
