Lake City changes course on ambulance study

The City Council will ask a state agency to review operations at the Lake City Ambulance Service before considering becoming involved with the Gold Cross ambulance service.

On Monday night the council held off on pursuing a management contract with Gold Cross, which is owned by Mayo Clinic at the urging of several past and present ambulance service members.

People who spoke to the council said they had no problem with Gold Cross but wanted a more objective appraisal if the city is going to do one.
