Wabasha County approves permit for feedlot in Oakwood Township

Wabasha County Commissioners on March 19 approved a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) request from Derrek Olson for a feedlot in Oakwood Township, nearly a year after denying Olson’s request for a feedlot to contain 980 animal units.
The County Planning Commission held a public hearing on April 24, 2023 and voted 5-0 in recommending that the County Board approve the CUP with 16 conditions.
