City in bloom ahead of weekend’s Governor’s Fishing Opener

Fresh off of last weekend’s 100-mile Garage Sale, Lake City is gearing up for an influx of anglers this weekend as it hosts the 2024 Governor’s Fishing Opener.
As the name implies, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will be in attendance for fishing and other events between today (Thursday) and May 11 meant to highlight recreational fishing and the state’s multi-billion dollar outdoors industry, as will representatives of dozens of media outlets.
