36th annual Community Thanksgiving raises $3,670 for Lake City Food Shelf
For the 36th time on Nov. 28, local churches and organizations served a free Thanksgiving turkey dinner at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City, while also collecting donations for the Lake City Food Shelf.
This year’s event served 421 meals and raised $3,670 for the food shelf. Around 70 volunteers helped out.
Representatives of participating organizations went to the food shelf on Tuesday, Dec. 17, to present the money.
Elwood Gnotke, one of the organizers, wanted to give a special thanks to the sponsors of the event.
