The namesakes of Lake City’s parks

So, who were the Patton, Doughty, McCahill, and Hoyt families attributed with some of Lake City’s parks? This article hopes to answer that question and give you a better look at these historic local figures. The Underwood family will be covered in a future article about the Jewell Nursey, and some of the many enterprises that once inhabited Hok-Si-La will have their own articles, as well. Some dates regarding the births and deaths of these local figures vary depending on the sources. I chose dates reflected on graves and in past newspaper issues over others. I additionally did my best to identify familial connections, although this proved difficult in a couple places. Credit for this local lore idea goes to Ashley Olson. Thank you!
