Kiwanis hears about the funeral business

Kiwanis Club members Augie Schleicher and Mike Arendt talked about their history with the funeral service.

Augie is the third generation of Schleichers who all had the first name of August.

Augie’s grandfather went to school for six weeks in the 1800s to learn the trade and start a business in Millville, which in later generations expanded to provide area wide services.

Now the training is headed to five years of education.

Mike and Augie have amiably traded places in running the business, as Augie is now an employee.
