Jason Wallerich obituary
Jason James Wallerich, 46, of Goodhue, passed away unexpectedly following a farm-related accident on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Cannon Falls. He was born on October 27, 1979, to Jim and Debbie (Moyer) Wallerich in Lake City, Minnesota.
Jason met his wife, Molly, in 2013, and the two were married in 2016. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with five wonderful children: Landon, Marybeth, Truett, Huckley, and Joelle. Jason’s family was his whole world, and nothing brought him more happiness than being a husband and dad. He loved making memories with his family, whether it was heading up north, playing ball, spending time outdoors, and often going out to the farm to fire up the dirt bikes and four-wheelers for the kids. He especially loved giving the kids tractor rides and pulling them behind the snowmobile. These simple moments together were some of his most treasured times.
Jason had a deep love for farming and took great pride in his work. He was an incredibly hard worker who believed in showing up, getting the job done, and giving everything his best. Farming was more than just work to Jason; it was a way he could honor the Lord.
Jason’s greatest legacy is the love he leaves behind in his wife and five children. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Though his time with them was far too short, the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave will live on forever.
Jason is survived by his loving wife, Molly; five children, Landon, Marybeth, Truett, Huckley, and Joelle; his parents, Jim and Debbie Wallerich; his parents-in-law, Bruce and Becky Benrud; his sisters, Angela (Corey) Eischens and Brittany (Marc) Huneke; his brother-in-law, Brad Benrud; his grandparents, Jim and Mary Wallerich; six nieces and nephews, Seth, Allie, Katelyn, Aribella, Otillie, and Anton; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Benrud; his grandparents Joanne and Herbert Moyer, his grandparents-in-law, Audrey and Lester Benrud, Eugene and Alvina Balow, and Mary Lou Ahlers.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service.
