More than fishing: Warm temps won't cancel LC Sportsman's Club event

The Lake City Sportsman’s Club ice fishing contest will go on Saturday, Feb. 18, even if anglers don’t make it on the ice.

With tempuratures forecast to be in the 40s or 50s, the club is seeking input both the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Department regarding ice conditions, a club representative said. A decision on whether to fish will be made based on those safety recommendations.

If conditions permit, fishing will be from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The entry fee is $5.
