Tennis Tigers open season
The Lake City High School girls tennis team opened it’s season with a home match against Rochester John Marshall Aug. 21. They lost the close battle 4-3.
On Monday, Aug. 24, the Blue Jays of Waseca visited and tossed the Tigers a 5-2 loss.
In varsity action against Waseca in singles play the bracket was split 2-2.
Grace Dankers was defeated 1-6, 2-6 at No. 1; Emily Albright was outplayed 0-6, 1-6 at No. 2; Ava Wallerich found success after three sets at No. 3, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4; Ashley Thieren cruised at No. 4, 6-3, 6-4.
Waseca swept the doubles bracket 3-0.
