Rocky marina beach gets sand infusion

The Lake City Marina beach near Ohuta Park got a lot less rocky on Aug. 4 when Glander Excavating distributed 200 yards of sand over it, enough to submerge the rocky surface under about six inches of sand.

It’s nice, for now. But the rocks will return.

“Any time the water level changes, the fine sand is washed away and what do you think is left, the rocks,” Lake City Marina Administrator Mark Lutjen said. “That’s just the way it is along the river.”
