The Lake City VFW Auxiliary 8729 sponsored a patriotic art explorers art contest for sixth grade students at Bluff View Elementary School.
Students created artwork depicting a bald eagle, which has been a symbol of this nation since 1782.
Truman Stolz won first prize ($15). Second place was Riley Lyke ($10). Third place was Baily Earnest-Miller ($10).
Stolz’s art was forwarded to the VFW First District Auxiliary contest. If he wins there, it’s on to the Minnesota state auxiliary for more awards.
