Girls tennis shuts out New Life Academy in opener
The Lake City Tiger girls tennis team made quick work of the first round of the Section 1A team tournament Oct. 4 winning 7-0 over Woodbury New Life Academy.
At No. 1 singles, Ava Wallerich won 6-0, 6-2 over Siri Nicol. Ashley Thieren won 6-3, 6-1 over Bryna Eigenfeld at No. 2. At No. 3, Emma Brunkow won 6-0, 6-2 over Amanda Oyen. Sarah Ziebarth won 6-0, 6-1 over Emma Pedro at No. 4.
In doubles action, Katherine Kennedy and Renae Harvey cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Grace Cooper and Abby Olson at No. 1.
