Allen Rolbiecki obituary
Allen “Al” Mark Rolbiecki, 83, of Lake City, Minnesota passed away at his home in Lake City, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on December 9, 1941, in Arcadia, Wisconsin to Roman and Bernadine (Drazkowski) Rolbiecki. In his youth he lived in the Fountain City, Wisconsin and Winona, Minnesota areas, attending elementary school in Dodge, Wisconsin and graduating from Trempealeau City High School.
Al married Marilyn Northrup on August 11, 1961, and they lived in the Twin Cities area where they were blessed with three children, Doug, Scott, and Cindy. They moved to Lake City in 1978. Marilyn passed away on February 1, 1987. Later Al married Deborah (West) Shimp on October 7, 1989, and gained two more children, Luke and Stephanie.
Over the years Al was employed at Silo Company, Ecker’s Apple Orchard in Trempealeau, Wisconsin, GM in Flint, Michigan, Consolidated Freightways, Charles Cabinet Shop, Napa Auto Parts, was owner of Lake Aire Motel in Lake City for several years, Cargill Flour Mill in Lake City where he retired from in 2004, and then worked at Pepin Valley Manufacturing.
Al enjoyed restoring cars, especially his Camaro and 1961 Impala, and also restored old tractors. He enjoyed going on tractor rides in the area and also had an extensive collection of toy Camaros and tractors. He loved to watch and attend NASCAR and drag races. Al was known in the community for his beautiful perennial gardens, especially the different varieties of iris he grew.
Spending time with his family and friends was number one for Al; he loved the annual family vacation at Nokay Lake and Island Camping and boating and enjoyed several Canadian fishing trips. Al and Deb went on several trips with friends; they especially enjoyed the Alaskan Cruise and trips to Branson. Al also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and cabinet building.
Al was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Rolbiecki of Lake City; three sons, Doug Rolbiecki of Millville, Scott (Lori) Rolbiecki of Mazeppa, Luke (Tracy Bachul) Shimp of Minneapolis; and two daughters, Cindy (Rob) Zimdars of Hager City, Wisconsin, and Stephanie Shimp of Minneapolis; nine grandchildren, Josh, Jaden, Alyssa, Jacob, Aaron, Michael, Peter, Ruby and Vincent; ten great-grandchildren, Ava, Brenik, Maverick, Jax, Nixon, Indi, Avery, Remi, Hank, and Nash; two sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Williamson and Karen (Pete) Fry, both of Trempealeau, Wisconsin; two brothers, David (Nancy) Rolbiecki of Trempealeau, Wisconsin, and Frank (Denise) Rolbiecki of La Crescent, Minnesota: a sister-in-law, Carmen Rolbiecki of Trempealeau, Wisconsin; and his two beloved cats, Iris and Poppy. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Marilyn, granddaughter, Heather, a great-grandson, Colten, three brothers, Charlie, Ed, and Roman Jr.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father James Russell and Deacon David Dose officiating. Friends and family may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Saturday. The burial for Al will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
