Antoinette Ludwikoski obituary
Antoinette “Toni” Ludwikoski passed peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at her home in Lake City, Minn., surrounded by family. Toni was born on August 18, 1937, to Otto and Regina (Braden) Simon in Bloomer, Wis. She graduated from McDonald High School in 1955 and worked for Falls Bait Company in Chippewa Falls for many years.
On April 4, 1959, she married the love of her life James “Jim” Ludwikoski. They were married at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls, Wis. Toni and Jim lived in Eau Claire, Wis., until 1985 when Jim’s place of employment was transferred to Lake City, Minn. Toni spent many years both in Eau Claire and Lake City doing day care. She touched many families by bringing up their children. After Jim retired in 2001, both Toni and Jim enjoyed time with their family and grandchildren and traveling to Lake Wissota in the summer and Hawaii and Arizona in the winter. She enjoyed beautiful flowers and being outdoors.
Toni was a loving mother and grandmother who was selfless in all her actions. She was an angel and saint that helped mold her family with all the loving characteristics of herself. Her generosity outpoured toward everyone she encountered whether she knew them or not.
Toni is survived by her husband Jim, her children, Debra (Mark) Rau of Lake Wissota, Chippewa, Wis., Jeff (Dawn) of Tucson, Ariz., and Lisa (George Meyer) Thornton of Lake City, Minn., four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Dennis, a brother Charles, and a sister Marie.
The family would like to give the most loving message to their father, Jim for his continuous care of love and support through Toni’s care. Without his care, she would not have been able to stay in the comfort of their own home over the past year. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Father Thé at Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church and the angels at Mayo Clinic Center Hospice (Brenda and Chaundra) for their special care during Toni’s transition of Life.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the summer at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel, where all family and friends will be invited to honor Toni. Details will be sent at a later date.
With all our love,
Jim and Lisa
