Arlene Rutz Obituary

Arlene Rutz, 90, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center in Lake City.
    Arlene Mae Diepenbrock was born Dec. 14, 1925 in Lake City to Grover and Cecile (Rill) Diepenbrock.  She grew up in Lake City and attended Lake City schools.  In July of 1949 she married Lyle Rutz in Lake City where they made their home and raised their two children Roger and Monica.  
    Arlene was a homemaker and did some childcare in her home for about five years.  She enjoyed spending time going camping, trout fishing, gardening, doing needlework, baking, and cooking.
    Arlene is survived by her son, Roger (Colleen) Rutz of Lake City; three grandchildren, Troy Rutz of Willmar, Jen (Don) Holcomb of Whispering Pines, N.C., and Tom Osskopp of Saint Paul; two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Emma Holcomb; and one brother, John (Sandy) Diepenbrock of Pueblo, Colo.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle Rutz; daughter, Monica Rutz-Osskopp; and four brothers, Robert, Don, Bill, and Dick.
    Services for Arlene will be held at a later date.
