Christopher Marshall Obituary

Christopher Carl Marshall, 46, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 11, 2019.
He was born Dec. 17, 1972, in St. Paul, to John and Barbara (Whaley) Marshall and they moved to Lake City in 1979.  He was a 1991 graduate of Lincoln High School in Lake City and attended college at Grand Forks, Winona State and Ashford University, before receiving his associate’s degree from Dakota County Technical College.  He began working as a finance manager for Red Wing Dodge before moving on to Wells Fargo, where he quickly was appointed to branch manager in 2010.  Christopher’s life was blessed with three children from his marriage to Rachel (Pearson) Marshall; they later divorced.  Chris loved cooking dinner for everyone, and when he wasn’t on the hunt for treasure and other finds while thrifting, he was usually staying active and spending time outdoors.  He especially enjoyed skiing in Colorado, mountain biking and he had competed in numerous triathlons throughout the Midwest.  His children will remember the time they spent with their dad on camping trips, collecting lake glass, their trips to Duluth and drives around Lake Pepin. Chris always made his kids his priority and he treasured every moment spent with them.
He is survived by his three children, Lauren, Annabelle and Daniel Marshall, all of Red Wing; his father, John Marshall of Lake City; much loved girlfriend, Krissy (Heitman) James of Red Wing and her children, Mason and Cienna; his brother, Donovan (Wade Otis) Marshall of Madison, Wis.; cousins, Brian (Kelly) Marshall of Grand Junction, Barbie St. Sauver of St. Paul and Eric (Lisa) Wollenberg of Hager City, Wis. and Natalia Tingle of Boulder, Colo. and an uncle, Wendell “Dell” (Barb Todd) Noble of Burnsville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara; grandparents; an aunt, Susan Wollenberg and an uncle, Wilson Tingle.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19 at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
