Clifford Rabe obituary

    Clifford Clarence Rabe, 98, of Lake City, passed away at his home in Lake City on Friday evening December 10, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born December 22, 1922, in Mount Pleasant Township, Wabasha County, Minn. to Clarence and Lizzie (Wieman) Rabe. He attended Boss School in rural Wabasha County, as well as Lincoln Country School. He married the love of his life, Margaret Wiebusch on July 10, 1941. They were married for 80 years, the longest marriage in the State of Minnesota, and second longest in the United States according to the World Wide Marriage Encounter.
    Clifford farmed until 1960 when he went into carpentry and working until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting, and playing cards. He was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church – Lincoln in rural Lake City.
    Clifford is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Rabe of Lake City; two daughters, Judy (Glenn) Becklund and Jan (Eugene) Hein both of Millville; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and twenty-five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and two brothers.
    A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church – Lincoln in rural Lake City, with Pastor Dan Reich officiating. Burial will follow the service in Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Thursday.
