Dale Wood Obituary

Dale Richard Wood, known to most as Woody, 63, of Lake City, died Friday, March 25, 2016 at his residence.
    He was born Oct. 17, 1952 in Austin, Minn. to Richard and Violet (Malchow) Wood. He grew up in Austin and graduated high school from there. In December 1970 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Berlin, Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1972. He moved to Lake City and began working at Federal-Mogul, where he worked for 43 years until retiring in April 2015. On Aug. 10, 1996 he married Kim Beck in Lake City. Dale was a member of the Lake City VFW Post 8729. He enjoyed camping, darts, beanbags, gambling, the Minnesota Twins, but most of all the Minnesota Vikings.
    Dale is survived by his wife, Kim of Lake City; four daughters, Natalie (Kert) Nelson of Faribault, Rachael Wood of Roseville, Jessica (Neil) Bauman of Blooming Prairie and Angela (Neo Richardson) Wood of Rochester; one son, J.D. (Cece) Wood of Faribault; step-daughters, Shawna O’Reilly of Rochester and Kelly (Ken) Alber of Manchester, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Dennis Wood of Apache Junction, Ariz.; three sisters, Mavis Wood of Colorado Springs, Colo., Patty (Dale) Lundberg of Austin, Minn., and Shirley Springer of Indianapolis, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Violet Wood and brother, Dean Wood.
    Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Bethany Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Fiege officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
