Darlene Odden obituary

    Darlene Mae Odden, at the age of 89, of Old Frontenac, passed away on Sunday,  August 14, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.
    Darlene was born November 10, 1932, the only daughter of Theodore and Hazel (Hattemer) Steffenhagen. Darlene graduated from Red Wing High School. She grew up in Old Frontenac which is where she lived a grand share of her life. While growing up she was the only female child in Old Frontenac and was overindulged by many. She married Ralph Odden on September 6, 1952. They spent 59 years together and had four children.
    Darlene was a loving stay at home mother and also worked outside the home. She was a huge sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Twins. Darlene was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Fellowship Club.
    Darlene is survived by her four children, Patricia (William) Rolsch of Old Frontenac, Linda Odden of Wabasha, Ralph Odden, Jr. of Red Wing, and David Odden of Plainview; grandchildren, Melanie Rolsch, Heather (Jason) Hogness, Erik Odden (Carly Palmer and her daughter Kaelyn); and great-grand-daughter, Brielle Hogness. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, brothers Donald and Lloyd, half-brothers, Lawrence, and Richard Thimijam and one grandson Brent.
    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Frontenac with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will be in Frontenac Cemetery in Old Frontenac.
