Darrell Springer obituary

Darrell Springer, age 84 of Corona, Calif. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021.
He was born on June 7, 1936 in Lake City, Minn. to Carl Springer and Helen Krause Springer. He attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1954. He married Lavonne (Vonnie) Kilgrain on May 7, 1975 in Corona. His love for cars was in his DNA and he talked cars till the day he passed. He started a car business in Lake City in 1965 and a short time in Wabasha, Minn., then to Red Wing, Minn. In 1974 he started a car business in Corona. After five years he moved it to Riverside, Calif., and was in business with his wife in the same location for 32 years, retiring in 2011.
He was a member of the Eden Lutheran Church in Riverside. His special love was talking on the phone with his family members and he enjoyed talking old times. Darrell served in the U.S. Army and was a very proud veteran.
Darrell is survived by his wife Lavonne; two stepsons, Greg Ahlers of Corona and Allard Ahlers of Frontenac, Minn.; siblings Ronnie Springer of Lake City, Dana (Delores) Springer of Lake City, Carlie Springer of Frontenac, Sharon (Chuck) Silvernagle of Rochester, Minn., Shirley (Gary) Quam of Bloomington, Minn.; sister-in-laws Sharon Sue Springer of Lake City,Barbara Friese of Norco, Calif. and Vickie (Pete) Rekkadahl of Red Wing, Minn.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Springer and Helen Springer; one brother, Jim Springer; and several uncles and cousins.
Service will be at a later date in Lake City. He will be layed to rest in St. John’s Cemetery in Lake City.
