David Courtier obituary

David William Courtier died of cancer peacefully on December 2, 2023 in Lake City, Minn., the town where he was born to Gilbert and Evelyn on February 5, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Diane. He is survived by his wife Dawn (Rader), his son Samuel, and his brother Dennis and wife Julia. He loved his family dearly.
He graduated from Lincoln High in 1965 and Bemidji State College in 1970.
After retiring from the Minnesota Department of Corrections, he and his wife began a career in health insurance sales. He found getting to know his clients especially rewarding.
David was thoughtful and good-natured. He was passionate about history and politics, sympathetic to disadvantaged people, and he loved to spend time with his family, who will miss him. David  donated his remains to Mayo Clinic research. Donations to the Red Wing Free Clinic or Food Shelf are appreciated.
