Delmar Klein Obituary

    Delmar Charles Klein, 77, of Lake City, died Friday, July 15, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System -  Lake City Hospital.  
    He was born on April 6, 1939 in Lake City to Ernest  and Caroline (Anderson) Klein.  He grew up in the Lake City area and graduated from Lake City High School in 1958.  He married Joyce Michaelsen on Aug. 5, 1961 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church,  West Florence.  They farmed in the Lake City area until 1984 when he retired from farming.  He then  worked at Ag Partners as a commercial sprayer and did many other jobs for them.  In 1997 they moved to Lake City. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church,  West Florence where he served on the church council.  He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, watching old Western movies, watching birds and  his favorite chipmunk and his bowling league.  Most dear to his heart was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren in all their activities.  He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews, family members and friends for having such a big heart.
    Survivors include his wife, Joyce; five children, Randy (Gail) Klein of Red Wing, Linda (Tom) McNurlin of Prescott, Wis., Wendy (Andrew) Augustine of Ellsworth, Wis.,  Darla (Todd) Stumpf of Red Wing and Kristi Klein of Lake City; 10 grandchildren, Emily, Whitney, Tyler, Matthew, Marcus, Kaitlin, Mollie, Lindsey, Dustin and Kayla; three great-grandchildren, Chantz, Parker and Chloe; his sibings, Joyce Murphy of Winona, Richard (Marvel) Klein of Lake City and Gary Klein of Ovieda, Fla.   He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Darrell and two brothers, Emery and Ronald Klein.  
    Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of West Florence with Rev. Stephen Kurtzahn officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 18 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel and at the church one hour prior to the service.
