Delores Wilson obituary

Delores Irene Wilson, 81, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Red Wing. She was born May 27, 1939 in Pipestone, Minn. to Charles and Margaret (Willems) Miller. She grew up in Pipestone and attended high school there. On June 7, 1958 she married Robert “Chuck” Wilson and the couple moved to Red Wing. Together they raised three children. Once her children were grown, she worked for J.C. Penneys, Bivouac and then Jostens until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Delores loved being a mother and grandmother and found fulfillment working with children. She volunteered her time with Mayo Clinic working closely with the newborns and helping with siblings’ classes. She also knit hats and sewed blankets for the infants at Mayo. She loved camping with her family and traveling with her sister, Jeri. Through her card club she made many friends after moving to Red Wing but she was just as happy in the company of a good Danielle Steel novel. And every summer Delores looked forward to the flowers in her garden.
She will be missed by many, including her husband, Chuck; children, Kimberly (Robert Borgschatz) Wilson of Bellechester, Chris (Jody) Wilson of Red Wing, Randy (Linda) Wilson of Lake City; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Libby) Cody, Aaron (Karisa) Cody, Mindy Shoen, Kristi (Pete) Bauer, Ashley (Will) Saucier, Tasha Storing, and Mallory (Jeff) Duea; 13 great-grandchildren, Paige, Ava, Logan, and Dreyden Cody, Skylar and Nola Cody, Emily and Hunter Shoen, Kevin Bauer, Eli Saucier, Svea and Everly Duea and Autiauna Storing; sister, Geraldine Jolley of Farmington; brother-in-law William Wilson of Red Wing, as well as two nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, John Jolley and Warren Gannon; and sister-in-law Mary Wilson.
A visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at the Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing. Masks and social distancing are required. A private family service will be held. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
