Dennis Anderson obituary

3/15/1940 – 10/14/2025

 Dennis L. Anderson, 85, of Burnsville passed away October 14 at home in Burnsville and on hospice.
He grew up in Lake City, Minn. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and worked in finance his entire career. For years, Dennis volunteered coaching Burnsville kids’ football, baseball, hockey, soccer and volunteered in many church and community organizations. Dennis enjoyed golfing, attending plays and concerts, playing bridge, reading mysteries and boating on the Mississippi with family.  Cheering on his beloved Golden Gophers and Vikings filled many Saturdays and Sundays.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia of 64 years; children Julie Ekelund (John); Christy Zimmer (Jim); Mark Anderson (Wendy); seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral is scheduled November 7, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13801 Fairview Drive, Burnsville. Visitation 10 a.m., Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. followed by reception.  Memorials to charity of choice.
