Edward "Duke" Feehan Obituary

The memorial service for Edward “Duke” Feehan, 89, of Stewartville, Minn., will be at 11 a.m.. on Saturday, June 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville with Rev. Kim Kyllo officiating.
    Mr. Feehan died on Thursday, June 20, 2019 of natural causes at his home.
    Edward Feehan Jr. was born on Oct. 5, 1929 in Wabasha Township to Edward and Mabel (Priebe) Feehan. He moved often as a young boy with his family in the Lake City area and attended rural school. In 1947 he enlisted into the U.S. Army. Following his discharge he returned to the Lake City area where he worked various different jobs. Duke was married in Rochester to Nancy  Wilson. Following their marriage the couple lived in Rochester and were later divorced. Duke was married on March 19, 1971 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville to Beverly Rud Kidd. Following their marriage the couple lived in Stewartville where they have continued to make their home.  Duke was employed at Peoples Cooperative Power as a lineman for 42 years until his retirement in 1993. Bev is a retired Mayo Clinic employee. Duke was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he mowed the grounds around the church for many years. He and Bev helped establish the dinner for the confirmation kids and often volunteered in the kitchen for church events. Duke was a member of the Stewartville American Legion and a past member of the Eagles in Rochester. He enjoyed fishing, putting up lights and decorating for the holidays, playing cards and followed the Twins, Vikes and All-Star wrestling. He enjoyed visiting with friends and loved time with his family.
    Duke is survived by his wife, Bev; one daughter and two sons, Steve (Margaret) Feehan and Shari Feehan of Oklahoma and Scott (Heidi) Feehan of Hackensack, Minn.; stepchildren, Tom (Nancy) Kidd, Patricia (Hal) Harris  and daughter-in-law, Glenda Kidd, all of Stewartville; 14 grandchildren  and several great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Rose (Pete) Hart, Margaret (Gary) Aswegan and Leo “Butch” (Jeannie) Feehan, all of Lake City; and many nieces and nephews. Duke was preceded in death by stepson, Mitch Kidd; his parents; one sister; and four brothers.
    Duke was part of the Anatomical Bequest Program at Mayo Clinic. A private family burial will take place at a later date. A time of visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service on Saturday, June 29 at Zion Lutheran Church.
