Flora Lowrie Obituary

Flora Ida Lowrie, 103, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.
    She was born on Nov. 26, 1912 to Julius and Amanda (Jander) Petrich in Varna, Ill. On Dec. 4, 1935, Flora married John Lowrie in Plum City, Wis.  They lived in Lake City for the past 44 years.  Over the years Flora worked various positions and assisted her husband’s different businesses in Lake City including Oak Center Ballroom, Lake City Airport, and Terrace Supper Club. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Ladies VFW Auxiliary.  She enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles
    Flora is survived by her daughter, Lois (Theo) Kruempel, of Lake City; son, Dale (Jerene) Lowrie of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren, Mark (Leann) Kruempel, Cindy Kruempel, Steve Kruempel, Lori (Scott) Harrison, Chad Kruempel, Greg (Jacque) Lowrie, Scott (Anna) Lowrie and Vicky (Wes) Kiser; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lowrie; six sisters, six brothers and her parents.
    A funeral service will be Saturday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Scott Fiege officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
