Francis Plank Obituary

Francis Plank, 72, of Kasson, Minn.,  formerly of Lake City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hosptial, St. Marys Campus  in Rochester.
    Francis was born on Dec. 10, 1945 in Wabasha to Herbert and Delores (Eastman) Plank. He attended rural schools in the Lake City area. He married Judy Plank Feb. 20, 1971 in Watertown S.D.  Judy passed away in 1992. Francis worked for the railroad and Lake City Mud Jacking. He also worked for Jennie-O Turkey Farms.  
    Francis is survived by nine children, Tracy, Terri Erickson of Rochester, Frances (James) Freerksen of Lake City, Carri (Michael) Peters of Dodge Center, Rose Plank of Kasson, Jennifer Plank of Rochester, Lisa (Bob) Virnig of Zumbro Falls, Chad Plank of St. Peter, Minn., and Timothy (Teresa) Reinart of Whitehall, Wis.; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, seven sisters, Nancy O’Flaherty, Elaine Halpaus, Shirley Meincke, Sharon (Robert) Henning and Kathy Roberts of Lake City and Charlotte Plank of Northfield; four brothers, Raymond Plank, John (Janet) Plank of Lake City, Jim Plank of Manorville and Ronnie (Sue) Plank of Northfield; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Plank and Carol Plank of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy, a daughter, Janet Perkins, son, Todd Swaningson, infant twins, four sisters, Ellen Mae Plank, Virginia Henning, Lois Beaham, Dorothy Blattner and three brothers, Marvin, Kenneth and Eugene Plank.
    A graveside service will be held Friday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Maplewood Park Community Center in Lake City from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  There will also be a Celebration of Life held at the Living Waters Assembly of God Church at 104 1st NW in Dodge Center on Saturday Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
