Gerald Allers obituary

    Gerald Vernon Allers was born in Lake City on August 18, 1949 to Vernon and Frances (Herbst) Allers. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967. He was a PF while serving in the United States Army in 1969, he transferred to the the USAR in 1970 (11B10 Light Weapons Infantry) and also service in the United States National Guard.
    He married Theresa (Hohn) in 1975 later divorced and remarried in 1982 .
    His hobbies included bowling, which he was given an award and ring for a 300 (perfect) game. He loved hunting, camping, playing cards, playing bingo.
    He was survived by a brother, Lavern Allers of Austin; two daughters Amanda (Gerald) Gray of Indiana, Angie Stapleton of Wisconsin; 13 grandkids and three great grandkids. He was proceeded into death by his parents Vernon and Frances (Herbst) Allers; his grandparents John and Minnie (Glander) Allers, Arthur and Clara Herbst; a brother Kenneth Allers; a sister Kathleen Wood; a niece, and a granddaughter.
    A graveside service gathering at Grandview Memorial Gardens is expected at a later date.
