Geraldine Luhman obituary

Geraldine “Geri” Luhman, 92, of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Mary’s Campus in Rochester.
Geri was born on August 7, 1931 to William and Ivanetta (Sommers) Wilde in West Albany, Wabasha County. She attended school in West Albany and Lincoln High in Lake City. On October 28, 1948 she married George Binder Jr. in Plainview, Minn. They were blessed with four children, a daughter Sheila and three sons, Terry, Randy and Mark. On Aug. 12, 1976, she married Adelbert Luhman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed for twelve years in Howard Lake, Minn. In 1987, they retired due to Bert’s health and moved to Rochester. In 1993 they moved to Lake City and became members of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Geri and Bert loved country music, dancing, traveling, playing dominoes and cards. They wintered in Arizona for eighteen years. Bert passed away on March 9, 2016. Her family was her world, she was a stay at home mom who loved her children and was a devoted grandmother and was always so proud of her family.
Geri is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Dennis) Weber; three sons, Terry (Jeannie) Binder, Randy Binder, and Mark (Karla) Binder; stepdaughters, Julie (Kym) Clark, Debra (Bruce) Salonek; stepdaughter-in-law, Joleen Luhman; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Overton; brother, Leonard Wilde; sister-in-law, Mary Wilde; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Geri is preceded in death by her husband, Bert; sister, Vivian LaRocque; brothers, Wilford Wilde, Raymond Wilde, Norman Wilde; brother-in-laws, Arthur LaRocque, Robert Overton; sister-in-laws, Joyce Wilde, Katie Wilde Kutter, Dorothy Wilde; stepson Brian Luhman.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City, Minn.Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
