Harold Meyers obituary

Harold DeLair Meyers, 92, of Lake City, died Saturday, Nov., 19, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus in Rochester. He was born July 19, 1930, in Austin, Minn. and graduated from Lake City High School, class of 1951.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-55, and had been stationed in Korea for one year and two days. After he was honorably discharged, he attended the NW School of Electronics. He worked in Winnipeg, Canada for a year servicing hearing aids and returned to the area, coming back to Lake City in 1980. He was a man of all trades and had worked at several places locally. He participated in several TRAM Rides for National MS Society, biking across the United States. He was a member of the VFW and the Power Squadron Boating Club in Lake City.  Although Harold never drove, he was a man about town, whether on his bicycle or later on his power wheelchair, and you couldn’t miss his distinguished white beard.
He is survived by his brother, Darwin (Nancy) Meyers of Lake City; sister, Dorothy (Ron) Lamkin of LaCrosse; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother; an infant sister and two brothers, Raymond and Thomas Meyers.
Graveside service with military honors will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel.  Memorials are preferred to VFW or PBS Broadcasting.
