John Mossberg Obituary

John was born to the late Carl John and Lillie (Voth) Mossberg on Aug. 14, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956.  He then received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University.  He married Donna Corrick in 1972.  They raised their children in Des Moines, Iowa before relocating to Red Wing in 1976.  They moved to Woodbury, Minn. in 2012.
    John owned and operated Mossberg Foundry in Des Moines until 1976.  He spent the next 20 years at Imperial Clevite, Inc (formerly Gould, Inc.) in Lake City.  He was an avid woodworker.  He made beautiful furniture for his family and friends.  
    John loved skiing and sailing.  He was a member of the Acanthus Masonic Lodge and United Lutheran Church.  
    He is survived by his wife, Donna Mossberg; son, Michael Mossberg; daughter, Karen (Brian) Keenan; and granddaughter, Chloe Keenan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lavonne Goodwin.  
    Services will be held at Fort Snelling.  Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life with his family in the Commons area at Applewood Pointe of Woodbury, 6050 Lake Road in Woodbury on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
