Joyce Balcome obituary

   The funeral for Joyce Florence Balcome will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville, Minn. with Rev. Ana Wilson officiating. Burial will be in High Forest Cemetery in the Village of High Forest, Minn. at a later date.
Joyce F. Balcome, 93, of Red Wing, Minn. died on Tuesday, December 6, at the Loving Residence in Red Wing, Minn.
Joyce was born February 20, 1929, in Byron, Minn. to Harold and Gertrude Patchin.  On October 27, 1947, she married Claude W. Balcome at Cummingsville Presbyterian Church; they were the second couple to be married at the church. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and served on the West Albany School Board.
Joyce loved her family, all kids, all grandkids, dogs, crocheting, knitting, fishing, camping, and cake decorating. She also enjoyed telling stories about the adventures that came with all these activities.  
Joyce is survived by her four daughters, Kathy Peterson, Marilyn Caves, Jean Balcome-Dicke, and Joan (Kirk Tingblad) Balcome; one son, Gary (Lesley) Balcome; twelve grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson, Bradley, and one brother, Willard Patchin.
Friends and family may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 18 at Grace United Church of Christ in Millville, Minn. and one hour prior to the service at Grace United Church of Christ on Monday.
