June Eggenberger Obituary

June O. Eggenberger, 90, of Lake City passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.
    June was born Dec. 25, 1925 in Lake City to Ernest and Norma (Rosvall) Olson.
    June grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. After she graduated she moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Janney Semple Hill and Co. for three years. June married Iver Eggenberger Jan. 12, 1946 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. After they were married they lived in Lake City. June worked as a bookkeeper at Di-Acro for 13 years. June was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was also a member and past president of the Lake City VFW Ladies Auxiliary and member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, working on her computer and most of all spending time with her family.
    June is survived by her husband, Iver; four sons, Gary (Jeanne) of Charles City, Iowa, James (Deanna) of Boca Raton, Fla., Lee (Sharon) of Lake City, and Todd (Polly) of Shorewood, Minn.; daughter, Laneova of Clarkston, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carman Weisz of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ardis Eggenberger; two brothers, Donald Olson and Bruce Olson; and three sisters, Elizabeth Mattson, twin sister Jean Wohlers and Beverly Kohrs.
    A funeral service will be Thursday, June 2, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. John Berg officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church and St. John’s Cemetery.
