Kenneth Allers Obituary
Kenneth Lee Allers, 58, St. Cloud, Minn., formerly of Rochester, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 at Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park, Minn.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home of St. Cloud. www.bensonfuneralhome.com/obituaries.php.
Kenneth was born Nov. 29, 1957 in Lake City to Vernon and Frances (Herbst) Allers. Kenneth attended Lake City High School where he was a star wrestler. He married Rita O’Byrne on April 16, 1999 in Rochester. They later divorced. Kenneth was employed as a cheese maker for Pace Dairy in Rochester for 23 years and AMPI Dairy in Rochester for 16 years. He was also a certified fork-lift driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and going to tractor pulls. Kenneth loved bowling and was a member of many bowling leagues, and received a bowling ring for a perfect 300 score. He also loved working on cars and building anything with wood , including furniture, sheds and garages.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Greer of Lake City; mother, Frances Burgett of Stewartville; ex-wife, Rita O’Byrne of St. Cloud; brothers, Lavern Allers of Austin, Minn.; Gerald Allers of Rochester; and sister, Kathy (Jerry) Wood of Arkansaw, Wis. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Allers, and an infant niece, Kristina Wood.
