Leon Yennie Obituary

Leon Pat Yennie, 66, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus in Rochester.          He was born on July 3, 1951, in Byron, Minn. to Fritz and Lucille (Busher) Yennie.  He attended schools in Byron.  On Sept. 10, 1988, he married Brenda Stoltz.  They lived in Lake City where he worked in maintenance at Treasure Island for 18 years. For a number of years, he also milked cows in the Kasson and Mantorville area.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
    Survivors include his wife, Brenda of Lake City; three children, Shane (Whitlie) Yennie of Lake City, Kathy (Krister) Yennie Pihl of New Hope, Minn. and Leon (Stefanie Ellingson) Yennie of Rochester, Minn.; one granddaughter, Anabel; one brother, Fay (Cindy) Yennie of Missouri; two sisters, Ramona (Bob) McKenzie of Byron and Judy (John) Nelson of New York Mills, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
    A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Fred Morck officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
