Leota Dugstad Obituary

    Leota Mavis Dugstad, 93, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.  
    She was born March 24, 1925 to Edward and Lula (Rowbotham) Lien in  De-Smet, S.D. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1942.  On Sept. 23, 1945 she married Earl Dugstad in Austin, Minn.  They lived in various places until moving to Lake City in 1968.  Leota worked at the Coat Factory in Lake City for many years, retiring in 1987.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church where she was involved with the church council and ladies aid for many years.  She was also involved with the quilters group.  She loved to read, play games especially Bingo, being involved with the Red Wing Collectors Society, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.  
    She is survived by her three sons, Bryan (Judy) of Danbury, Wis., Mark of Lake City and Bruce (Debbie) of Red Wing; daughter, Lori (Bill) Merriam of Crystal; daughter-in-law, Cindee Dugstad of Frontenac; 13 grandchildren;  11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; son, Craig; brother, Marvin Lien; and sisters, Betty Johnson and Ginger Cashman.  
    Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Duane Holst officiating.  Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Online condolences can be sent at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
