Leslie Siewert Obituary

Leslie Emil Siewert, 77, of Red Wing, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  
    He was born on March 18, 1942, in Elgin, Minn. to Emil and Joyce (Van Houton) Siewert.  He graduated from Elgin High School.  He worked various jobs over the years, but mainly at Koch Refinery for over 30 years before retiring. He married Gloria Funk and they later divorced.  He lived in Red Wing for over 50 years and in 2019 he married his longtime significant other, Susanne Hase.  He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, woodworking, cutting wood, farming and just being able to be outdoors.
    Leslie is survived by his wife, Susanne; one daughter, Michelle (Kevin Hager) Dankers of Kellogg; three stepchildren, Kelly (Brian) Sheppard of Hudson, Wis., Tanya Hayes of Bloomington and Korrie Winkler of Red Wing; one sister, Margaret Loos of Millville; two grandchildren, Kody and Kaleb Dankers; 11 step-grandchildren, Riley O’Neil, Blake Gilles, Tyler, Mitchell and Tanner Goulette, Emma, Alex and Kylie Winkler,  Nathan and Jordan Sheppard and Samantha Malcom; along with several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Cyril Plank; one sister, Clara Arendt and one brother, Gary Siewert.
    Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing with Chaplain Dan Crapo officiating. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.  Online condolences may be sent to the family www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
