Lillian McNee Obituary

Lillian M. McNee was born May 9, 1934 to Oscar and Alma (Mielke) Kraling in Spring Valley, Minn.  She graduated in 1952 from Spring Valley High School.  On June 21, 1953, she married the love of her life, Leon McNee in Spring Valley.  They lived in Spring Valley, Plainview, and Stewartville and moved to Lake City in 1967.  She passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.
    Lillian was employed by Jewell Nursey in Lake City and retired after 20 years.  She attended First Lutheran Church and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary of Lake City.
    Lill was famous for her potato salad and apple pies.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, doing word search puzzles, cooking, baking, and traveling.
    Lill was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Leon, her son, Donald, her parents, and four siblings, Wendell, Mildred, Kenneth, and Connie.  She is survived by her three daughters, Jeanette McNee of Pine Island, Joanne (Mark) Almendinger of Sunbury, Ohio, and Judy (John) Miller of Apple Valley; four siblings, Clara Mae Leichtnan, Marge (Edward) Manahan, Marilyn (LaVern) Strop, and Helen (George) Strop; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
    Per Lill’s request a private burial service will be held at a later date.  And an “I Love Lill Party” will be held on Monday, June 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Port 104, 104 North Washington Street in Lake City.
