Lois Ann Laqua Obituary

The funeral mass for Lois Ann (Rothgarn) Laqua will be at 11  a.m., Friday, Oct. 6 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City.
    Mrs. Laqua, 86, of Lake City, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 after a short stay at Mayo Clinic Health System - Lake City Care Center.
    Lois was born July 22, 1931, in Lake City to Ervin and Viola (Goldie) Rothgarn. She grew up in the Lake City area, married Emery Laqua on Nov. 26, 1947.  They farmed and lived  in the Goodhue area until 1997 when they moved to Lake City.  Lois worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company for 18 years, retiring in 1992.  She and Emery enjoyed their winters in Arizona.  
    Lois is survived by two sons, Ronald (Jane) of Ladson, S.C. and  Charles (Bonnie) of Andover, Minn.; two daughters, Patricia (Duane) Stemmann of Red Wing and Marilyn (Jeff) Hanson of Rochester; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, June Liljevall of Lake City, and Mary Lou Rocha of Durham, N.C.; and a brother, Richard Rothgarn of Ilion, N.Y.  She was by preceded in death by her husband, Emery, her parents and six brothers.
    Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 5, from  4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at St. Mary  of the Lake Catholic Church and one hour before the service on Friday.
