Lorraine Glander Obituary

Lorraine Emma Glander, 91, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha.
    She was born Aug. 15, 1927 to Alvin and Elda (Klindworth) Haglund. She attended country schools through eighth grade. On July 11, 1945 she married Raymond Glander at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. Lorraine worked for the Lake City School District for 14 years working in the cafeteria, until retiring in June of 1989. Raymond passed away April 16, 1992. She loved gardening, canning, and shopping for crafts. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and participated with the Ladies Aid. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
    She is survived by her children, Larry (Jane) Glander of Wabasha, Chari (JR) Myers of Lake City, Kathy (Lisa Finstad) Glander of Brooklyn Park and Debra (Steven) Cash of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Michael (Kayla Holstad) Jungwirth, Jenny (Lonnie) Thompson, Jennifer (James) Berg, Heather (Russ) Schmidt, David Jungwirth, Brent (Angela) Beaulieu, Nicole Beaulieu Borgstrom, Monica (Paul) Worwa, Jessica (Tim) McGroarty, Meghan (Nic) Meyer, Bryce (Sondra Tenfoorde) Cash; great-grandchildren, Noah, Jackson, Addison, Emma, and John Jungwirth, Nicholas Clausen, Autumn Berg, Lydia Worwa, Grayson and Nolan Schmidt, Dylan Thompson, Bjorn and Charlotte Beaulieu, Ava and Ian McGroarty and Lola Meyer; sister, Millie Lichtblau of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Alvin and Elda Haglund; siblings, Harriet Lichtblau, LaVern Haglund and Marcine Haglund.
    Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. David Peters officiating. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City. There will be no visitation prior to the service on Saturday. A reception will follow the funeral at the Lake City VFW. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mahnfa- milyfuneralhome.com.
