Lucille Etzler obituary

Lucille “Lucy” Etzler, 90, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Lake City. She was born August 27, 1931, in Motley, Minn. to Frank and Lila (Marsh) Kowalski, Sr. She attended the Philbrook School at Motley. On October 19, 1948, she married Henry Etzler in Motley.
    Lucille enjoyed caring for children and in her earlier years she did a lot of daycare in her home. In her later years she moved to Lake City to live with her daughter, Marilyn, and worked at the Lake City AmericInn until she was 80. Lucille enjoyed word search puzzles, and especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. She loved her road trip vacations.
    Lucille is survived by her children, Marilyn (Dale) Lichtenberg of Lake City, and Jennifer McCallister of West St. Paul; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Carry of Motley, Minn. and Joann (Rudy) Bjerga of Staples, Minn.; and a brother, Frank Kowalski, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, sister, and one grandson.
    A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 13, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at Union Cemetery in Maplewood, Minn.
