Marcella Olmstead obituary

Marcella Kirkwood Olmstead,  95, passed peacefully in her sleep at her daughter’s home in Yorba Linda, Calif. on Friday Jan 1, 2021. She was born on April 14, 1925 to George and Emma (Dammann) Kirkwood in Lake City.
Marcy is survived by her children Nancy Whitmore, Vicki Ritter (Rich), Kirk Norton (Judy), and Kent Norton, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Lincoln High School and was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City. At 18 she moved to California and married Hal Norton in 1946. She married Tom Olmstead in 1974 and they returned to Lake City many times for vacations, reunions and family golf tournaments.
Marcy was predeceased by her husband Tom, siblings C. J.  Kirkwood, Bob Kirkwood, Bill Kirkwood, and Donna Mae (Mickey) Kirtz.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Orange, Calif. at 10 a.m. with  ashes being scattered in Lake City at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Marcy’s life may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 154 S. Shaffer St., Orange, CA 92866.  Attn: Marcy Olmstead Memorial Fund.
