Marcia Krause obituary

Marcia Phyllis Krause, 78, of Red Wing, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at the Lake City Care Center. She was born on Jan. 16, 1942, in Wakefield, Rhode Island, the daughter of Lawrence and Ethel (Turner) Green.  She grew up in Saunderstown, R.I., in an area lovingly called “Rose Hill” established by her great-grandparents John and Ethel Rose. She attended schools in North Kingstown, the class of 1960.  Growing up she helped out at her parents’ grocery store in Saunderstown and at the hospital she was born at as a nurses’ aid.  She met and married Bill Robbins and they later divorced. She moved to Red Wing in 1960 and in 1962 moved to Wacouta and raised her four daughters.  For three years she worked at Nybo’s Lanes downtown and then for Lee Lines for 34 years. On Aug. 26, 1978, she married Kurt Krause. They loved their time together until he lost his fight to cancer in 2006. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Auxiliary.  
Marcia is survived by her four daughters and their families, Elizabeth (Ray) Keller of Lake City and their children, Stephen (Dani), Tommy and Megan; Holly Robbins of Red Wing and her daughter and family, Brooke (Carlos) Ortega and Ben, Adrian (Heather) and Matthias (Gabi) Hoesli; Cheryl (Rick) Youmans of Red Wing and their children, Alicia (Amy) Andrews and family and Amanda Youmans; and Ginger Kundert of Kasson and her children, Brynn, Jadyn and Camryn. Also surviving are her sister, Dottie Besaw; brothers-in-law, Gene (Karen) Krause, Ed (Lois) Krause and Jim (Dawn) Krause; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Bob) Knutson, Venita Krause and Pastor Cindy Krause; along with many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kurt; his twin brother, Ken; brother-in-law, Stan Besaw and grandson, Jason.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, at Oakwood Cemetery with Reverend Arthur Sharot officiating. Social distancing and masks are required.  There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church, Red Wing, Minn.  Cards can be sent in care of Cheryl Youmans, 3103 Lawrence Street, Red Wing, MN  55066.
