Marcus Lehman Obituary

Marcus Lehman, 73, passed away at his beloved farm overlooking Lake Pepin on Thursday June 13, 2019.
Marcus was born in Minneapolis on May 27, 1946. As a young child, he lived in Madagascar with his parents who served as missionaries there, and he maintained an active interest in Madagascar throughout his life. He graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield with the class of 1968, where he was a member of the St. Olaf choir. Following service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he relocated to Lake City to join his father, Al Lehman, to form ALMARC Farms. In addition to farming, he also worked at Valley Craft, Liberty Diversified as a design engineer. His pride and joy as a farmer was maintaining a small herd of prize Simmental cattle, and his family is grateful that he was able to remain on the farm until his death. His gracious and gentle spirit will be missed by all.
He is survived by his three sisters, Joy Erickson of Minneapolis, Dawn Lehman of Denver, Colo. and Beth Lehman of Minneapolis; brother-in-law, James C. Erickson; nephew, Mark J. Erickson; and niece, Michelle Erickson Waters. His surviving extended family includes an uncle, an aunt, 12 cousins and seven grandnieces/grandnephews. Marcus was preceded in death by his parents, Albert C. Lehman and Hazel (Hoffman) Lehman, also long-time residents of Lake City.
A memorial gathering for Marcus will be held at his farm in Lake City on Sunday July 28, exact time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorials to Lutheran World Relief at www.lwr.org.
