MarDelle Shulze Obituary
Former resident of Lake City, MarDelle Irene Shulze, 69, passed away peacefully Friday, April 24, 2020 at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center, where she had been a resident since 2018.
MarDelle was born Dec. 22, 1950 in Blue Earth, Minn. to William and Ora Griese. She graduated from Ledyard High School in 1969. She married Rodger Eggestein in 1974. They resided in Lake Crystal until his untimely death in 1982. After his death, she lived in Mankato for a few years until later moving to St. Charles. It was while living in St. Charles that she met David Shulze. The two moved to Lake City and were married in April of 2004. MarDelle had a passion for music, believing that music spoke to people on a soul level. She was intelligent, quick-witted, and gifted with an infectious, loud laugh that you couldn’t help but be affected by. MarDelle strived not to take life too seriously and lived as carefree as she possibly could. Some of her other interests included gardening, crocheting, crafting, art, motorcycling, and boating.
She is survived by her husband of Lake City; two daughters, Sarah (Dagan) Frey of California and Hannah (Wayne) Collinge of Red Wing; a son, Geoffrey (Megan) Eggestein of Hutchinson; three step-daughters, Tammy (Bill) Broadwater, Kristi McGowan and Emma (Mitch) Alfson; a step-son, Jeremy Shulze; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild, two sisters, Jolayne (James) Riensche of Arizona and Audrey Griese of Iowa; a brother, Verlin (Susan) Griese of Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Autumn.
Due to current restrictions on travel and gathering of groups larger than 10, a funeral has not been set at this time. As a result, we are remembering MarDelle with a contribution to https://give.classy.org/MarDelleShulze.
