Marie Lewis obituary

    Marie Evelyn Lewis, 84, of Lake City, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 4, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born March 20, 1937, in Dover, Minn. to Henry and Leona (Seefeldt) Walters. She attended Little Valley School in rural Plainview. On May 13, 1961, she married John Lewis at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview.
    After marriage they lived in the Plainview and Elba, Minnesota area, and moved to the Lake City area in 1964. Marie was a homemaker and worked as a Home Health Aid. She also worked at Courtier’s Pepin Heights Apple Orchard for many years. Marie enjoyed mowing lawn, gardening, tending to her flowers, and bird watching. She loved spending time with family and attending school activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marie especially enjoyed music by playing her accordion and yodeling. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
    Marie is survived by her children, Kay (Donald) Hanson, Karen (Guy) Turnbell, Keith (Ann) Lewis and Kevin Lewis (Deceased) all of Lake City; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bonnie (Tom) Fick, Lois Leuth, Joyce (George) Ressie, and Joanne (Richard) Paukert; two brothers, Gene (Jo) Walters, and Ronald (Cathy) Walters. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a son, Kevin, and her husband, John on October 28, 2021.
    A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 10, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Steven Frentz officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
